Paroles de Salagou - 2011 - Les Arts Oseurs
A collective adventure through time with Les Arts Oseurs - revisiting the social landscape of the lake Salagou located in the region of Herault in France.
A story about a desert valley where a lake was created in the 70s to benefit the local farmers —- the villages were deserted the landscape changed and 40 years later there is a story to tell about how it affected people and transformed their lives forever. A series of residencies through the villages interviewing the locals from elderly to the children, drawing the surroundings and the people. - from a mobile studio in a caravan.
A few years later we were invited to present the work through an immersive audiovisual installation to share with the local community in the Village des Arts in Octon. An audio recording was edited by la Cie Les Arts Oseurs, colouring books and diaries were available to consult and use.
Charlotte Tessier came to read the texts and perform live, while the children played within the installation. The exhibition was held in partnership with Le Village des Arts - Octon - La Manufacture des Paysages - Les Arts Oseurs - L’Epicerie Phonique.
